What is it about? This series brings incredible stories and experiences of Indian women who have immigrated to the United States & rebuilt their lives in a new country with many diverse cultures. Each episode is a conversation with an American daughter of India with a focus to capture her unique journey, and to explore the various transformations she has experienced since moving to the U.S. For most women, this conversation was their first time sharing their unfiltered experiences about their challenges, triumphs, and everything in-between.
All guests remain anonymous for confidentiality reasons, but their stories are Real.
Why was it created? My goal is to amplify the voices of Indian women and to ensure that their stories are never forgotten! American Daughters of India is an audio documentary of the Indian immigrant experience (from women’s perspective,) that can serve as a thread of communication to enrich, motivate, and connect us all.
Who is it for? This podcast is for all Indian women, their families, friends, neighbors, & professional colleagues in America, India & all other part of the world. In other words, it is for everyone who would like to learn from the immigrant experience.
Where to begin? Listen to the 5 minute Introductory Episode of this series, available on this website and on platforms listed below. New episodes will be published each week.
How to participate? Indian culture is rich & diverse - spanning different life-styles, religions, sexualities and much more. I invite every American daughter of India to share her story, and through her participation she will support and strengthen the voices of all American daughters & sisters of India.
